We are Scientists
Our teaching of science develops pupils’ natural interest and curiosity about the world in which they live, and fosters in them a respect for the environment. Our science provides the foundations for understanding the world through the specific disciplines of biology, chemistry and physics.
Through our science curriculum, pupils build up a body of key knowledge and concepts, and are encouraged to recognise the power of rational explanation and further develop their sense of excitement and curiosity about natural phenomena.
The science teaching at All Saints Primary is engaging and relevant to the needs of our pupils. Our curriculum provides first hand experiences that allow children to develop enquiring minds, learn how to question and discuss science through collaboration. Starting from the views already held, children are given the opportunity to have their views challenged, to change their views and ultimately improve their understanding. A planned range of practical experiences set in meaningful contexts helps to develop a range of investigative skills and allows children to take risks and learn from their mistakes, developing them into independent learners.
We love Science!
