"The more you read, the more you'll know. The more you know, the more places you'll go." Dr Seuss

Our Fantastic Library!

With the help of our brilliant PTA, who contributed £5,000, and advice from Leeds School Library Service, our library had a complete makeover early in 2014.

It is stocked with a wide range of fiction, non-fiction and poetry with the aim of encouraging all our children to have a choice of books to read for their own pleasure and to see libraries as great places to be.

As requested by the children, it also has cushions!  An online cataloguing system helps us keep track of who is reading what.

Each class has its own weekly timetabled session when they can go to the library, and staff help children choose and change books.

Pupil Voice

To make decisions about the library we have a Library Council, comprised of two elected representatives from each year group from Y1 to Y6, who meet regularly with Mrs Mayo.

Reps consult with their classes and pass on ideas for how the library could be improved; collect suggestions for the types of book the library needs; help solve any problems in the running of the library; think up ideas for themes, competitions, activities, etc.

By far their biggest job of the year is to plan how we celerate World Book Day.  Everyone brings a favourite book to share plus lots more.....

Welcome - have a look around.
